His death certificate (Vol. 53, #26308) records James William Sexton, age 70 years 8 months 11 days, widowed, born 5 March 1879 in Rowan Co., died 16 Nov 1949 in Morgan Co., father Obidah Sexton, mother’s maiden name Emily Brown, cause of death coronary disease, informant Ora Moore, Craney, Ky, burial in Hargis Cemetery.

His gravestone says James Will Sexton, 1879 - 1949. He is buried with his second wife Myrtle Perry, with the dates 1891-1948. I cannot find a record for her in the Kentucky death index.

1910 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Farmers precinct, enumerated 19 April, lists on p. 2B as family #20/21:
Sexton, Jim W., 31; Rosie, 30, first marriage for both, married 13 years, mother of 7 children, 5 living; Ovie D., son, 11; Will H., son, 8; Iva, dau, 7; Myrtle, daym 3; Sylvia, dau, 1 1/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.
